NoDa

Home to some of the most prominent murals in the Queen City, NoDa has become the city’s hippest entertainment district. The neighborhood’s main artery is North Davidson Street, where the name ‘NoDa’ comes from. Many of the former textile mils here have been converted into performances spaces, coffee shops, bars and restaurants, making it a must for anyone looking for a day or night out.

Plaza Midwood

At the intersection of eclectic grit meets architectural history, you’ll find the “streetcar suburb” known as Plaza Midwood. Plaza Midwood is the perfect place to get lost for a few hours walking down tree-lined streets to view impressive historic homes and politically-charged murals, and then chug a PBR at a bar. Breweries, independently owned bookstores, record stores, dive bars, boutiques and some of the best dining in Charlotte can all be found here.

Uptown

Charlotte newbies: don’t call “Uptown” downtown. You’ll get raised eyebrows and, since you’re in the South, a backhanded “bless your heart.” No matter what you do, don’t miss the center of the city. Uptown features an ever-growing skyline and an equally impressive list of businesses and innovative newcomers.  Known for being home to city’s sports teams, Uptown is also a cultural hub for artists and creatives and home to some of the best museums in the Southeast. Walk past murals, sculptures and green spaces, but don't miss out on the restaurant scene, offering a variety of cuisines, some of the best cocktails and a lively nightlife scene.
