Boasting silver mines, world-class beef, and a hot, dry climate through most of the year, this culture-rich city on the edge of northern Mexico’s Chihuahua Desert was until recently an overlooked one. Travelers have begun tacking a couple of days on trips to other northern Mexico hotspots, such as Tijuana and Valle de Guadalupe, to experience Chihuahua City’s authentic charm, revolutionary history and famously warm people, along with a chance to take in the views of the rolling hills that surround the metropolis. From the city, many travelers also embark on a several-day train trip through the stunning Copper Canyon, six sprawling canyons with copper-colored walls.
