Cleveland Neighborhoods

Ohio City

Welcoming and pedestrian-friendly, this formerly independent town (which was annexed by Cleveland in 1854) is centered around the palatial West Side Market, but its 100-plus stalls are far from the only delicious spots this restaurant-filled area has to offer. The six-acre Ohio City Farm is one of the largest contiguous urban farms in the country, and the neighborhood is also home to the city’s densest concentration of craft breweries, including Nano Brew and Platform Beer Co.

University Circle

Encompassing Case Western Reserve University, this park-filled square-mile has been said to contain the highest concentration of art and cultural institutions in America. Think of it as a Midwestern version of the National Mall: Within about a 15-minute walk, you’ll have access to the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Institute of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Cleveland Botanical Garden, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and Severance Hall (the neoclassical–meets–art deco home of the Cleveland Orchestra).
