Framed by sprawling coffee estates and the lush forested slopes of the Blue Mountains, Jamaica’s lively, sometimes gritty but always authentic capital city – connected to the original capital Port Royal by the Palisadoes sand spit – offers plenty to discover.

Widely known as the birthplace of reggae, Kingston also offers up some of Jamaica’s richest music scenes, with one of the major attractions being the Bob Marley museum, packed with artefacts commemorating the island’s most famous musician. However, there are plenty of other cultural attractions, ranging from the art-stacked National Gallery to the plant-packed Hope Botanical Gardens.
