Downtown Palm Springs

The heart of the city, downtown Palm Springs is populated with dozens of shops, bars, eateries, galleries and more. Most are located on the highly walkable historic corridor of Palm Canyon Drive. Remember to look down as you stroll: The sidewalk is emblazoned with the Palm Springs Walk of Stars, honoring local luminaries like Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Suzanne Somers and Lily Tomlin. The nearby Arenas Road serves as the city’s LGBTQ hub, lined with a welcoming selection of bars and clubs for every mood.

In recent years, this area on the north stretch of town has exploded with stylish new hotels, restaurants, galleries and shops. There are scads of great boutiques, including Iconic Atomic, Wil Stiles and Elizabeth & Prince. You can find well-curated vintage home furnishings at Modernway, Re[x] and Christopher Anthony Ltd. And for a one-of-a-kind shopping experience, head to The Shops at Thirteen Forty Five, a labyrinthine assemblage of stores housed within an unmissably pink E. Stewart Williams-designed building.
