Palm Beach Island

Known simply as Palm Beach, this enclave for the super-wealthy (at last count, 33 billionaires were reported to have properties here, including President Trump) lies just off West Palm Beach. A 16-mile sliver of land with a year-round population of less than 10,000, the island is uniformly well-kept, its beaches lined with mansions, marinas and hotels, including the grand Breakers Resort, overlooking the ocean. An abundance of scenic promenades, golf courses and gardens allow visitors to enjoy the über-wealthy lifestyle. Industrialist Henry Flagler's glorious Gilded Age estate (now a period museum) and the glitzy shops and restaurants of Worth Avenue heighten the illusion.
